VTG Zuni Multi Stone Inlay Bracelet Ring Set Sunface Native American 1970s

This is a brilliant jewelry set comprising a three-rail, heavy gauge bracelet and a sturdy ring. The artist's created a classic sunface design using multiple materials: onyx, shell, turquoise, coral, and mother of pearl. Both channel inlay and mosaic inlay techniques were used in their construction. The bracelet has some added features, such as twisted silver wire as a border and silver dots between the rails at the terminus. Two teardrop shell and onyx sections frame the sunface. Neither the ring nor the bracelet have ever been worn.

The ring is a size 6.75.
The shank is about 1/8" wide.
The ring face is 7/8" in diameter, and is about 1/8" deep.
It weighs 7.6 g.

The heavy gauge sterling bracelet rails are 1/2" at their thinnest, flaring to 2" wide to support the face.
The bracelet face is 2" in diameter.
The inner circumference is 5  1/2", with an additional 7/8" wrist gap. It will fit up to a 6  3/8" wrist.
It weighs a notable 72 g.

The artist's hallmark is an outline of a sunface on a silver tag, indicating famous Zuni silversmiths Morris and Sadie Laahte who were particularly well known for their inlay work in the 1960 and 1970s (they were active from the 1960s into the 1980s). Sadie Laahte was the niece of Leekya Deyuse, one of the most famous carvers and jewelry makers of all time in the Zuni pueblo. Morris Laahte passed away in 1987, with Sadie passing away not long after that.

Please measure your wrist twice and know your proper size BEFORE purchasing this bracelet. Because there are stones set in this bracelet, opening it up by hand could crack the silver or loosen the stones. The same things can happen if you squeeze the bracelet too hard to make it smaller. If the bracelet needs a small adjustment to be more comfortable for you, please take it to your favorite professional jeweler. He or she is typically happy to assist.

This bracelet and ring set is new old stock, a set coming from prior store inventory. Previously displayed but not sold.
