Set of 7 White Placemats & Napkins, Vintage Handkerchief Cotton, Hearts Design If you order these right now, I can maybe get them to you by Easter.
I think these super sheer placemats are meant to go on top of a tablecloth. That would look SO STUNNING. These placemats are so beautiful and formal--and clearly from another era. I think they are from the 1940s. The condition of them is absolutely beyond belief. Except I know the woman they came from, and she's in her 70s, and these belonged to her mother. My guess is that her mother was what we used call very "type A" and took extraordinarily good care of her things. I have no idea why there are only 7. It seems like a silly number to have.
The placemats measure 11" x 17" and the napkins measure 16" x 16". The runner, which(unlike the placemats) has some rust spots, measures 10”x 34”. (see photos) The fabric of the placemats is like what I'd call handkerchief cotton. It's VERY delicate. These have a subtle heart design embroidered into 2 corners of the placemats and one corner of the napkins. I ironed some, not all of them : )
I'm a highly rated seller and I ship quickly. It'll come to you from a smoke-free, pet-free house. Thanks for the consideration.
