Famous and iconic suspension lamp mod. Quadrifoglio "Four Leaf Clover" in perspex and chromed steel designed by Luigi Massoni for Harvey Guzzini and produced in Italy between 1968-1978.
The lamp consists of a large 19,68 inch cloverleaf shade in white acrylic with 4 curved rods in chromed metal and a chromed reflector underneath. To embellish the whole there are the rings, the plates and the 2 spherical pins always in chromed metal; the tulip acrylic ceiling canopy is also chromed. The length of the cable is adjustable and is secured by a thin steel wire.
This fabulous and very rare Quadrifoglio model lamp is often attributed to Gae Aulenti, but these are false hypotheses. Perhaps the confusion arose from some resemblance to the Pipistrello lamp by Gae Aulenti designed for Martinelli Luce. But Gae Aulenti only started working for iGuzzini in 1985, 17 years after the design of the Quadrifoglio which is undoubtedly a project by Luigi Massoni who worked with the company from 1962 until 1976 (Source: iGuzzini website and book: "Culture of an Italian region. Le Marche, Guzzini and design", Augusto Morello, 2002).
The lamp is functional, in very good aesthetic condition with minimal traces of use, already cleaned, polished with perfect chrome and ready for use. Original electrical parts.
This is one of the most famous icons of the mid-century style.
Models: The QUADRIFOGLIO suspension lamp also exists in the floor lamp and table lamp versions with lampshade made of white, yellow, green or orange acrylic. There is also a version with a white metal reflector instead of chrome.
Labels: You can find the QUADRIFOGLIO suspension with the labels of Harveiluce, Harvey Guzzini and iGuzzini. In some countries they were also sold under the Meblo brand; Meblo is a Croatian (then Yugoslavian) company that sold Harvey Guzzini products. The Harvey Guzzini company still exists today and changed its name in 1974 to iGuzzini and in 1981 to iGuzzini lighting.
