1955 Isle of Man Visit Queen Elizabeth One-of-a-Kind Bystander Photos Lot of 6
This lot is a group of 6 original black and white photos taken by a crowd member when Queen Elizabeth II visited the Isle of Man in August of 1955. The photos include the Queen, Prince Phillip, and other notables. At least four of the photos were taken at the same event and the other two look to be on another day because the clothes are different. However, it's not a stretch to believe the Queen changed outfits as she moved from one event to another on the same day.

A speedboat approaching the dock with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip. The prince can be seen seated in the left front of the boat as it approaches. The boat to the right of the Queen's boat is marked "Official" and is filled with people clapping and waving. The boat on the right of the Queen's boat is filled with sailors. Perhaps the most important feature of this image is that the flag of the Isle of Man is flying at the back of the Queen's boat. This is the feature that allows us to date the images.

Queen Elizabeth walks on the dock and shakes a man's hand. Prince Phillip is seen behind her. In the background on the right of the photo, you can see people all over the boats and piers watching the event.
