This vintage pressed-tin lithograph bat-op toy features a unique design that will surely catch the attention of any collector. The toy is made by Nomura of Japan and features a red and yellow color scheme, of a 7" long hot rod model and a dream boat/rock n' roll theme. Its material is pressed-tin and it was manufactured in the early 1950s, making it a true gem for any vintage toy collection. The toy's aspects include a "Bump & Turn" drive system, while the head on the driver is turning from side to side. While this is going on, "carburetors" light up on top of the engine. At least, this is what happen when the toy was new and working. I added two new "C" batteries to the clean battery case and nothing happen. I'm assuming that heat, from probably being stored in an attic, melted the wax on the electric motor armature which caused it to fail. A very common problem with these battery operated toys of the Fifties. However, the good news is the lithograph is in excellent condition with bright color and details. The chrome is a little tarnished but that was the norm in the early Fifties. Don't miss out on the opportunity to add this unique and rare piece to your collection.
