1920-D INDIAN/BUFFALO NICKEL #00
VERY-GOOD DETAILS WITH SOME TONING
Offered here is a nice example of a 1920-dated Indian/Buffalo nickel that was coined at the Denver Mint.  I feel the coin grades Very-Good with some original toning.  However, you should view the photos closely, compare my coin(s) against others on Ebay, and then form your own opinion!   The April-2024 issue of Coin World Magazine shows a current Trends value of $19.00 for this coin in the grade of Very-Good!
I have collected coins since 1959, and the so-called “Buffalo Nickel” was always a favorite of mine.  Due to age and health, I’ve decided it’s time for my coins to find a new home/caretaker!
The so-called Indian/Buffalo nickel was designed by sculptor James Earl Frasier (his “F” initial appears below the date), and it was coined from 1913 to early 1938.  He used three Native Americans to model for the obverse:  Iron Tail (Sioux), Big Tree (Kiowa) and Two Moons (Cheyenne).  The reverse actually shows an American Bison rather than a buffalo!  These coins are often considered our “Most American Coin”!
