Many of you might be wondering, "what is 'MR' and why does it make this Featherweight rare?"  During the late 1940s and very early 1950s, Singer sent a few Featherweights to be sold in Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets primarily in South America.  The very few machines that were sold or intended to be sold there were marked with the "MR" decal to trademark the "Singer" name in those foreign countries.  "MR" stands for Marcas Registradas which translates from Portuguese to "Registered Trademark". You can still find the "MR" symbol today often on Coca-Cola products bottled in Mexico.

EF693*** indicates an original production commission date of February 14h, 1950.  Be sure to click on any image far above to view the close-up details of this Singer Featherweight machine. It is in beautiful condition with a slight amount of decal wear.  Does need a good polishing and probably a servicing as I only tested to make sure the needle went up and down and that the lamp still works
