F.S.A. ...., published by John Chamberlaine, F.S.A. ...., London, England, 1828 edition. (Reference: Hardie p. 64. Hiler & Hiler 442; Lipperheide 984 (for 1st ed.); Lowndes 405.) Condition: Fine; Picture only shows the plates the actual paper is much larger (see size).
Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 23.5 x 32.4 cm. The image size is ca. 13.4 x 21.7 cm. Size (in inch): The overall size is ca. 9.3 x 12.8 inch. The image size is ca. 5.3 x 8.5 inch.
Medium: Stipple engraving on vellin type paper. The colouring is done on the copper plate (a la poupée), so the colours are actually printed. This is done in a very delicate manner. The result is of rarely equaled quality! The colour paper chosen mimics the paper used by Holbein on the original drawings.
