An interesting map of the world overlaid with a 'Chart of Isothermal Lines, shewing the mean annual Temperature of the Different Parts of the Earth's Surface', published in Adam & Charles Black's General Atlas of the World in Edinburgh in c.1850. The map itself measures approximately 385mm x 260mm with margins beyond and the isothermal lines have been hand coloured, blank verso.

Condition report: Excellent condition, light toning (darker at edges of the sheet); 3mm closed tear to left edge of sheet not affecting the printed area. See photographs.
