young boy in red and white shirt, blue coveralls, straw hat, and holding a scythe, O MY VALENTINE red heart emblem on the front of his overalls, jumping stick figure, FATHER TUCK'S mechanical toy circa 1910

Jointed limbs with attachments to a single stick running up the back. Instructions on reverse TO MAKE THE FIGURE JUMP, PRESS DOWNWARDS, WITH BOTH HANDS, WITH AN EVEN PRESSURE UPON THE SHOULDERS, WHEN THE KNEES WILL BEND AND THE NECK WILL BE ELONGATED. WHEN THE FIGURE IS PRESSED DOWN AS FAR AS IT WILL GO, BOTH HANDS SHOULD BE REMOVED SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE FIGURE WILL THEN SPRING INTO THE AIR.
I have never tried to make these figures jump as designed as I don't wish to cause damage so can't guarantee that they would be functional.

I have been a collector of Raphael Tuck cards, and ephemera on eBay for almost 20 years and am now selling items that I no longer need. I also manage the reference collection for the TuckDB and TuckDBephemera listing websites. Many thanks for looking, Alison
