Susan Weiner is a registered dietitian-nutritionist and certified diabetes educator. Susan is the 2015 AADE Diabetes Educator of the Year. She is also the recipient of the 2014 Distinguished Alumna of the Year Award from SUNY Oneonta. Susan earned her master's degree in "applied physiology and nutrition" from Columbia University in New York. Susan has a busy private practice in Long Island New York and writes for a number of diabetes and nutrition publications. She is a passionate diabetes advocate. Susan maintains a blog on her website , which focuses on diabetes, weight management, PCOS, fitness and health issues. Susan understands that life-style change begins with active listening, not lecturing. She coaches, communicates and educates people with various health issues. Susan is a dog lover and continues to rescue dogs that require special attention. Susan is continuously inspired by her two and four legged-friends, family, patients and readers
