***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The Sicura 49 (EB 8021-68) manual wind movement does not run as the crown cannot be wound, likely indicating that the mainspring needs to be replaced. The date and time can be set without issue. At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.***********

This vintage 1970's Sicura, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a matte black dial that under the heavily damaged crystal is in pristine condition.  The original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue.  The bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely.  The chrome-plated case shows honest wear and brassing.  The outer edge of the case back is stamped "STAINLESS STEEL BACK   400 VACUUM   WATERPROOF   SWISS MADE" with "SICURA" followed by "GUARANTEED" stamped along the inner edge.  The crystal needs to be replaced.

The 23 jewels Swiss "SIC 49" stamped EB 8021-68 manual wind movement does not run as the crown cannot be wound, likely indicating that the mainspring needs to be replaced.  The date and time can be set without issue, with the date wheel rolling over at 12 am.  This movement does not have a quickset date function.  At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.

This watch measures approximately 38 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs.  Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm.  Including the crystal case thickness measures approximately 10 mm.

At a minimum a complete overhaul is required.  As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.  Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.  For this watch that time is now.  Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility.

Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given.  And please study the 24 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.

Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided.  Thanks for looking!
