Two nice old documents from the town of Strong, Maine, signed by the Town treasurer, Winthrop Norton.    Both have period Internal Revenue stamps, "Certificate" and "Inland Exchange."   Both are essentially receipts for borrowed and paid money; some figures on the back of each.    One is dated 1864 and the other 1865.  There are later dates regarding payment, but these are the years that Norton wrote out the documents.
