This vintage or older rag doll is a handmade girl doll with a primitive look. It comes with a worm and torn white, pink and blue dress and is framed and matted for display. The doll is made of rag and cloth with multicolor features, and is a one of a kind handmade piece.

The doll roughly measures 12 in tall and 7 in wide.

The shadow box frame roughly measures 15.5 in tall, 11.5 in wide and 2 in deep.

The doll is set on a pink backer board and had a blue framing mat. The doll was framed in the 1980s. I’m not sure how old the doll is but it is quite a bit older than the framing.

I acquired the piece from an estate in Hammond, Louisiana. The estate was a 1970s time capsule with lots of needlework pieces and an international collection of treasures. The gentleman of the house was in the military as a younger man and later became a professional musician and head of the local university band. The lady of the house was a music teacher at the high school level. Their family had migrated to the USA from Greece several generations before, and they made many pilgrimages back to Greece. They traveled frequently to Eastern Orthodox countries in Europe. I have more from their collection in my shop.

The doll type is rag cloth, and it has a doll gender of girl. It also has the additional features of being handmade and vintage, perfect for collectors of antique dolls. The set includes a dress, and it belongs to the Dolls & Bears category, specifically under Doll Clothes & Accessories.
