Antique Ea. 19th C. Cast & Wrought Iron Large Fork for Open Fire Cooking w. Inscription

  • For your consideration is an early primitive two-pitch fork for open fire cooking
  • Large and impressive, blacksmith made by hand from cast and wrought iron
  • A hole on the handle for hanging and display
  • It seems that there is a faded 3-lines mysterious inscription at the back of the handle, witch we cannot make out due to age, oxidation, wear and extensive handling and cleaning  
  • Circa early 19th century, American, found in Massachusetts

  • Measurements: Approximately 15" long x 1.75" wide x 0.25" thick
  • It weighs 1 lb. 2 oz.

  • Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. Nice patina and oxidation, commensurate with age and use. All original.
