Antique 1800's NOVELTY German Pressed Birch Snuff Box Domestic Kitchen Scene
- For your consideration is a beautiful box, made out of pressed birch wood.
- An intricate carved domestic scene on top, featuring a woman, a child and a cat in a country kitchen
- Detailed in a traditional German folk art style, although it could have been made in Russia for export to Germany or Switzerland, as most of these boxes were traditionally crafted there
- Made of birch wood, thickly varnished, with brass hinges
- It may have been used for snuff or tobacco
- Circa mid to third quarter of the 19th century
- Measurements: Approx. 3.25" x1.75" x1"
