- It portrays Virgin Mary with the child Jesus Christ
- Skillfully carved white marble with exquisite detail
- Note the beauty and the expressivity of the holy faces
- The Madonna and Child image follows the cannons of the Orthodox Christianity
- Carved Greek letters and date 1725
- Circa 1725, Greece or Bulgaria
- Great patina and smooth feeling from being caressed by many adoring hands through the centuries.
- Mounted in a 19th century wooden oak frame for display
- Measurements: Approx. 10.75" tall x 9" wide x 1.5" thick with the frame, 7.25" x 9.25" x 0.75 the marble plate only
- Weighs about 4 lbs.
- Condition: Very Good overall. Please see photos. The top right corner has been chipped and re-attached back in time, possibly when the image was mounted in the frame.
