Antique 19th c. Bronze Door Bell with Original Wrought Iron Coil Spring
- For your consideration is an early Victorian door or servant's bell with its original coil spring and a holding nail
- The bell is from cast and shaved brass, the hardware is from hand hammered wrought iron
- The clapper is cast iron ball attached to iron hanger
- Strong and clear sound, very good acoustics
- We are not sure how exactly the system worked but it is very RARE to find a bell with its original spring
- Antique, 19th century, found in Pennsylvania, but it could be British
- All original
- Measurements: Approx. 11" x 7.5" x 4.5" overall, the bell only is 4.5" high x 4.5" diameter
- Weighs about 2 lbs. 1 oz.
- Condition: Very Good overall. Patina and oxidation commensurate with the great age. Please see photos. All original.
