  • It portrays Napoleon Bonaparte and his two wives: Josephine and Marie Louise
  • Empress Josephine Bonaparte was married to Napoleon from 1796 to 1810
  • Marie Louse Duchess du Parma, Empress of the French (1810-1814) from 1810 until 1821
  • The three miniatures are painted by three different artists and are all signed: 
  • Napoleon- signed Dubois, Josephine - signed  Mikel ?,  and Marie Louse - signed Belin
  • All three portraits are very skillfully painted. The faces are beautiful and expressive
  • The typical for the fashion of early 1800's Empire silhouette dresses and jewelry of the ladies are presented with great attention to the details
  • Napoleon is in his iconic grenadier uniform
  • The miniatures are under glass
  • The gilt bronze ormolu frame is in typical Empire style design
  • Blue velvet mating, consistent with the style
  • Well preserved colors
  • Circa late 19th century, possibly French
