Here we have the latest Deluxe tool kit needed to hold a 9" Ford rearend in alignment when you are narrowing, assembling or changing the width.

Included are.....

One Deluxe alignment plate. This billet aluminum plate replaces the need for a used or dedicated 9" Ford 3rd member case and is a whole lot lighter. Simply slide this plate over four of the 3rd member studs on your housing and snug up the four nuts. The plate has two billet bosses on the back that are the correct dimension to properly line up the housing ends. The curved top allows you access to help guide the alignment shaft when assembling. We recommend you use the proper gasket behind the plate to simulate your finished housing dimensions. ( The plate also allows you to use our Rearend Ruler to simplify measurements. See our other listings for this kit with our Rearend Ruler included)

One pair of housing end bushings or rings that fit either the Big Ford housing ends that use the 3.15" o.d. bearing or the Small Ford housing ends that use the 2.835" o.d. bearings.

One pair of lock rings to hold the above bushings in place on the shaft.

All three are designed to be used with a 1 1/4" o.d. alignment shaft and the bushings and plate are machined from 6061 aluminum right here in good old Missouri.

6061 aluminum is the material of choice for Dart aluminum engine blocks, Aeroquip AN fittings, aluminum racing flywheels, OHC camshaft sprockets, etc. These are just bushings and will see no wear or abuse and should last a lifetime.

The 1 1/4" shaft IS NOT included in this listing.

Due to the high shipping cost of a solid steel bar five feet long , we suggest you source the alignment bar locally or online. Most people use a 1 1/4" o.d. 1018 solid steel cold rolled shaft 60" – 72” in length. The common bar diameter of 1018 cold rolled steel is 1.248” and works well. The industry standard for 1018 round bar is .002” smaller than the stated diameter. Chrome Moly, Stainless Steel and tubing may be larger than the 1.248" required. SpeedyMetals, OnlineMetals and DiscountSteel are a good source for the bar although you should be able to source it from a local welding or steel shop. Obviously the shaft needs to be straight, not rusty and the proper length for your project. Lightly lubricate the bar with oil.

We build these plates out of Mill Run 6061 aluminum to keep the cost of these tools down. Mill Run means it may have some scratches or minor imperfections in the plate. We also install the plates on a housing and slide a bar through the brackets to check fit, so do not think you are getting a pre-owned or used plate.

We also have standard 9" Ford, 8" Ford, 8.8" Ford, 57-64 Olds, 59-64 Pontiac, 8 3/4" Mopar, Dana 35, Dana 44, Dana 60, 7.5" GM and 10/12 bolt Chevy rearend narrowing kits.
