An original, antique, copper-engraved print of an armillary sphere in three different positions. It was published in volume 1 of Alain Manesson Mallet's 'Description de L'Univers', in Paris in 1683 (1st edition).

The image is printed on good quality hand-laid paper with the printed area measuring approximately 101mm x 143mm with good sized margins beyond, French text verso as published.

Condition report: Very good condition; age toning; French text verso. Strong, clear image printed on hand laid paper. Some staining / handling marks mainly in the margins. Rough left edge of the sheet with occasional small nicks where it was originally bound into the source publication. One almost invisible pin-sized hole to the bottom margin not affecting the image. Please study the photographs carefully to fully appreciate the condition.
