MCKEE (Lonette Rita, American actress and singer who made her big screen debut starring as Sister Williams in the original 1976 musical-drama film Sparkle. McKee became the first African American to play the coveted role of Julie and received critical acclaim for her performance in Broadway musical Show Boat in 1983, for which she received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical, 1954-); CHRISTY (George, charismatic fedora-wearing American columnist, of proud Greek origins, who wrote the weekly gossip piece 'A Good Life' in The Hollywood Reporter for 26 years, and who was widely liked by the stars and wider artistic fraternity in California. He was also an avid food and wine connoisseur, and for many years held a legendary annual lunch at the Toronto Film Festival, 1927-2020).]

An original hand-written and signed greetings card and accompanying envelope sent by American actress Lonette McKee to Hollywood columnist George Christy, 1975. 

Original greetings card and envelope postmarked '27 Jun 1975'. Written in black ink. Addressed to 'George Christi [sic], c/o The Hollywood Reporter...' on the envelope, with McKee's address in Burbank on the rear, and to 'Dear Mr. Christi [sic]' on the card. Signed 'Lonette McKee', suffixed by her with 'sister' in brackets, in reference to he role in Sparkle. Size: card (unfolded) - 13cm x 10.2cm.
