'LIMA' indicates it was struck from silver captured during the War of Jenkin's Ear, a conflict between Britain and Spain that started with the severing of a British captain's ear by Spanish sailors and lasted from 1739 to 1748.

King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Lueneburg, Arch Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire), (date) divided at both sides of crown).
