Size: the printed area measures approximately 380mm x 485mm

Description: An original, antique, copper-plate engraved map of Yorkshire by Jan Jansson. It is printed on good quality hand-laid paper with original outline hand colouring. The map is adorned with a decorative title cartouche and mileage scale as well as several finely engraved sailing ships and a sea-monster. French text verso.

Condition: Good condition. Age toning. Centrefold as published. Two 2cm closed tears to the top margin, both well away from the printed area. Some faint creasing. Waterstaining, which is most noticeable when viewing the reverse side of the map (image 7). However, when viewing the map itself, the staining is most obvious in the margins - focusing on just the printed area the staining is significantly less noticeable overall (as in image 1). Please study all the images carefully to fully appreciate the condition.
