About The Photographer:
Sourced from a large collection by a prolific photographer from the early part of the 20th Century called John Joseph William Carruthers. 
John Carruthers was a member of the Acton Photographic Society and also Secretary & Treasurer of the Hammersmith Hampshire House Photographic Society (both affiliated to the Royal Photographic Society Of Great Britain). He travelled extensively around Europe and the Far East with his camera, many of his photographs were exhibited and he was also listed in early editions of the British Journal Photographic Almanac.
