Here is a vintage Burns style black aluminium pickguard that I believe was made in Japan in the very early eighties. It originally came with three Dimarzio Super Distortion pickups and SEVEN mini toggle switches! The two volume and two tone pots had early 1981 date codes.
It comes in two pieces, the outer area for the controls and the central part that houses the pickups. I am guessing this was probably to allow different pickup configuration plates to be used.
I do not know the name or brand of the original guitar this was removed from but it would make for an excellent project, perhaps to design a guitar that fits around it!
It has marks and scratches that are to be expected after 40 plus years.
