So Who Are Eco-Green Batteries? - Eco-Green Batteries is a tiny business based in a van on the edge of the Peak District. It consists of me (James) in the UK, with assistance from my friend who works for the battery manufacturer in China. My personal interest in LiFePO4 batteries comes from the fact that one of my main interests and hobbies is travelling in my campervan. I have owned a self-built campervan since 2009 and I have travelled all over Europe and the UK from Cornwall to Scotland and as far afield as Austria, Switzerland and Ibiza, mainly pursuing my love of mountain biking. In a previous life I was a pipeline inspector in the oil industry often working far away from home in different countries, now I live in a van and work from wherever I want… 😊 Over the years I've always been looking to improve my van and make it more self-reliant, I don't tend to stay on campsites, preferring to "wildcamp" in more interesting locations, so therefore I very rarely have the opportunity use mains power and campsite hook ups. The limitations of existing energy storage solutions have always been apparent to me. I wired my van myself and I've used these batteries continuously for over 18 months whilst living full-time vanlife. Initially I operated all the electrical systems in my van using one 200Ah battery in conjunction with 300W of solar panels and a Victron Energy Orion TR LiFePO4 battery to battery charger (which I highly recommend); and then subsequently adding a further 200Ah to my system giving me 400Ah in total. In this time I have made significant practical improvements to my van with a Shoreline Marine 12V fridge freezer, a Victron Smart solar charge controller and an air fryer and domestic kettle run via an inverter. I am a real world campervan/outdoor activity enthusiast trying to offer great products at great prices to other like-minded people. I'm keeping my costs to a minimum and passing the savings on to the customers - support the little guy and save money at the same time! I have sold hundreds of these batteries over the last 18 months and I rely on them every day.
Why is your Marketing so Crap? 😂🤣Do you have a website? I live in a van and I have better things to do! I just “say it how it is” and let the product speak for itself. I actually have a degree in Business and Marketing, that’s why I hate marketing bullsh*t. I don’t have a good laptop, my phone is 5 years old, I’m not on social media and I don’t use a fast internet connection – but I do sell good quality batteries at very competitive prices and provide excellent customer service. I have considered setting up a website, but ebay provides plenty of exposure and operating a website is just an additional hassle and cost. I haven't spent any money on marketing and I’ve relied solely on ebay listings, positive feedback and word of mouth for promotion.

LiFePO4 After extensive personal use, I think that the performance of this technology is far superior to the lead acid technology that it supersedes. The lithium batteries are actually still at 12.8v at 20% SOC, whereas my old lead acid would be at 10.6v at 50%! By running the engine or going for a drive with a DC-DC charger, or on a nice day with the sun on the solar panels, the batteries recharge very quickly when compared to lead acid. The batteries are far lighter than my previous setup even though I've doubled my capacity. I have run my fridge, my water heater and various other appliances using 12v DC and a 240v DC- AC inverter, I tried to "abuse" my first battery as much as possible by using appliances which draw a lot of current and by running it down to completely dead, and it has performed brilliantly.
What is different about Eco-Green Batteries' products when compared to the competition? The answer is “Not that much…” Although the technology is relatively new, it’s not particularly complicated. Companies have brand names and fancy graphics explaining why their product is superior and should command a premium price, but ultimately many of the products are very similar in every respect. This product operates to the same performance levels and meets the same safety standards as other high quality products, except that because our overheads are kept to a minimum, significant savings can be passed on to the customers. Are the products more expensive? No, on the contrary, due to close links with the manufacturer we are able to obtain premium quality products at very reasonable prices in relatively small quantities. Because of our extremely low overheads we are actually able to compete on price with much larger companies and offer our customers more for their money. We have spent no money on marketing and have relied solely ebay feedback and word of mouth to promote our products, which speaks for itself! Our products meet the same performance and safety standards as all our competitors (they are CE marked), and we offer the same guarantees, but we are also want to give something back and contribute to improving our environment, on a local level and a global scale. Do your products come with a warranty? Although we are a tiny business, we have close direct links with our supplier and we can offer full product support to our customers, we are not just drop shipping products with no back up. All our batteries are checked by quality control before leaving the factory, and again in the UK before they are shipped to our customers. We aim to offer excellent customer service and we will always endeavour to find amicable solutions to any problems. In the unlikely event that there are any quality control issues our supplier wants to be informed immediately so that they can take corrective action. All sales are covered by ebay's 30 day money back guarantee and if there is a manufacturing fault with one of the batteries it would become apparent during that time and a refund or replacement would be provided. After the initial 30 days, if an issue arises, just get in touch and let us know what the problem is. This situation has occurred twice since we have been operating and it's transpired that the issue was with the customer's system or that they needed more capacity to run the appliances that they were using. So far (20/10/23) there have been no issues with any of the batteries which have been sold, and lots of repeat customers.
