Beautiful antique piece measures approx 10" x 3.25" x 1.75" tall.   Has a sliding lid.   Some of the top edge of the box is missing as shown, so the lid is loose and lays on top.   

Probably the painting is not as old as the box, but still old.   scotty dogs with spools of thread? and horse.  

Otherwise, clean, structurally sound.   Some numbers marked on the bottom.   Not sure what they mean.  

Jointed corners and nail construction.   Lighter weight wood.   Stained light brown.
