Colonial American Powderhorn from Norwich Connecticut in the years preceding the American Revolution. This engraved cow horn depicts Norwich Connecticut circa 1750 and gives you a glimpse of life in town including slavery in New England. There are all sorts of animals including a lion and turtle, the homes surrounding the town green some of which still stand. It is a culturally important piece the likes of which are only in museums. The authenticity is guaranteed. It measures eight inches. This was considered for purchase by the Mystic Seaport Museum in Connecticut though the timing did not allow for the purchase. Inscribed are the words “County Norwich Connecticut”
