1974 Press Photo Margaret Denton-Smith arranges two small canvases at Stern show

This is an original press photo. The two small canvases, which are being arranged by assistant manager Margaret Denton-Smith, are typical of Whitney's style. The Stern will also preview Ruffin Cooper photographs and drawings and collage by Marilyn Hamann. The Galerie Simonne Stern will wind up its 1974 season with three feature exhibitions; the shows will be opened Wednesday with 7 to 9 p.m. galas in both Royal St. showrooms. The artists are Ruffin Alcorn Cooper, whose photographs will be hung in the Stern's 516 Royal Street quarters; George Q. Whitney, whose paintings will be across the street at 527 Royal; and Marilyn Hamann, whose drawings and collages will also be displayed in the more spacious 527 Royal area.
