Nippon Morimura Bros Hand Painted Chrysanthemum Flowers Biscuit Jar AS IS.

Beautiful Nippon Melon shaped biscuit jar with lid. Gold gilt beaded decoration all over the jar and lid. Hand painted with big, lush colorful  Chrysanthemum flowers in shades of dark and light pink and gold and yellow with yellow centers highlighted with brown. Flowing leaves in shades of green. Standing on three gold gilt feet. The lid has a scrolled type handle painted in rubbed gold.  Sadly the lid has been damaged and glued back together. Display with the lid ,or  this would make a fabulous vase.  Marked on the reverse in green, in an oval with cherry blossoms MM, and HAND PAINTED. This mark was used by the Morimura Bros  from 1891-1921. With or without the lid it displays beautifully.

All measurements are approximate:

Jar measures 8 1/4" tall x 7" wide. Jar opening measures 4 1/4" in diameter.

Good antique condition to commensurate with age and use with AS IS lid. The lid has been glued back together. There is one bump chip on the body of the jar on one of the green leaves and one on the lid on a leaf, some rubbing of the gold gilt on one foot. See last 6 photos. No other chips or cracks.

Please remember this is a no return.
