Here is an original Belgian movie poster from the first 1940s re-release of Cecil B. DeMille's epic historical drama, The Crusades. In this film, King Richard and the Third Crusade (1190 - 1192) are given the DeMille treatment with more spectacle than history. This poster is from the first Belgian re-release of the film after the end of the war in Europe (probably 1946). It is in fair, trimmed, theater used condition and printed on the reverse of a war ordnance map of what looks to be Scotland. It is also printed in the smaller, immediate post-war format in order to conserve paper. I have never seen another example of this poster come up for sale or auction over the past 30 years.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN/SIZE: Belgium  9.75" x 13.25"

CONDITION: Fair Trimmed Condition on Back of a Map. Totally trimmed of all its original white borders, though you can see remnants of the white. Some uneven color distribution in artwork possibly due to being printed on the reverse of a heavy war era map. Rippling effect possibly from paste used to display this theatre used poster.  Artwork is intact.  This poster has been stored flat for the past 23 years and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube or box. Please see photos for all condition issues.
