A rare, British army button to the ROYAL WEST KENT (VOLUNTEERS) REGIMENT. This button is large (22mm) in size, and made from nickel, indicating that it would have been worn by a soldier in one of the volunteer battalions. Made by 'Smith & Wright Limited, Birmingham', and marked with their details on the reverse (see photos). Issued and used. Good detail and in good condition considering age (Victorian, 1881-1902 period).
