Antique English Pewter Mug or Tankard, QUART, c. 19th Century. This is a fine large sized quart bar mug or tankard.This mug has a cylindrical shape with a stepped base and an applied scroll handle. The mug is marked on the front rim near the handle, "QUART - VR 21" . This mug is also engraved on the front the owner's name and the pub he frequented, "F. H. London. - Montagu Arms - South Hampton". This is done in early fancy script and it is difficult to read. This has a tag inside it that shows that the previous owner purchased this at "Sweeney's in Mahorn Bay, Nova Scotia in '64 an English import". The tag shows the price was $42.00.
