'SMS' - Beween 2007-2010, Philadelphia and Denver produced a satin finish of the Presidential Dollars, in addition to the brilliant (uncirculated) finish. This involved specially preparing coin blanks before striking, and wasn't used after 2010.

Honestly, this was pretty smart. Presidential dollars became NIFC's after 2011 anyway, and the brilliant finish's don't show surface marks from handling as easily - U.S. Mint for the win.
