This is a Carved Wooden Thread Holder c.1880. Thought to be of Austrian/Bavarian origin. Beautifully carved - pull off lid to reveal a removable thread holder. Base diameter 3.5 cm. Height 13 cm. Good condition - two chips to exterior of the case and minor damage to the thread holder inside (photos).
