- RENE BINET created the grand entrance for the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900 which was arguably the high water mark of the style and Binet one of its prime exponents. Of which "Esquisses Decoratives" was published to coincide with. Outstanding & Invaluable Portfolio of Rene Binet's Finely Detailed Drawings of Intricate Esthetic Designs. A mixture of Applied Arts, Art Nouveau, Decorative Art, Gothic, Orientalist influence, Science and Historic Architectural Work. Also design details from the recently constructed La Porte Monumentale
- Of Note: He would make regular trips for inspiration to the Natural History Museum in Paris to create and define the naturalistic, anti-industrial aesthetic of his time. Animalistic stimulus, exotic wildlife animals such as leopards, monkeys, exotic birds are worked into his creations. in fact, he modeled that main entrance after an illustration of a microscopic sea fauna by Ernst Haeckel. He was also known for his Magasins du Printemps in Paris.
