ITEM DESCRIPTION

Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on Margaret Fuller by Thomas Wentworth Higginson!

A great find from a local New England estate!

This scarce antique volume is over 140 years old!

1st Edition.  Ex-library.

In nice condition overall!  Original publisher cloth binding shows some wear, including a library sticker pasted to the front board, a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, rubbing, soiling and toning to the boards and spine, general wear around the extremities including light bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some rubbing and soiling to the page edges, including the gilt top edge.  Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume!  The gilt title lettering displays nicely from the shelf despite toning.

Internally, this volume is in good shape overall.  There is some cracking visible to both the front and rear hinges, and the frontispiece illustration is somewhat loose, however both boards and all page groupings remain attached to the binding.  This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the title page and copyright page.  Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions.

The text block of this volume is clean throughout.  There is just typical age-related toning to the pages, as well as some light foxing and soiling scattered throughout, some minor edge wear in spots, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings.  Perfectly readable throughout!

Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait.  Make sure to see the additional photos in the description below for a thorough look through this antique tome!

323 pages with additional publisher advertisements in back.

Measures approximately 7 1/4 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches wide by 1 1/4 inches thick.

A perfect addition to any fine collection or a wonderful gift for someone special!
