This  card is one in a series of 56 cards issued  by  the MERLEY CANDY CO. of Pasadena California during 1952  .  The cards were attached to the outer package of the 1cent Licade Candy (which from what I can tell was set up in a folder like pack holding the candy.  The back of the folder was the card, and was intended to be cut off or torn away (it does appear perforated).   The series is entitled KNOW YOUR HI-WAY.  It features images of a Hi-Way Sign and a License Plate from a different state in 1952.  It does mention on the card that “Canadian and D.C. Plates Most Rare”.   I have not been able to find the series listed in any guide that I am aware of (ACC, Non Sports Bible, ect.)   This one features a Plate from UTAH  The Card  measures 2 inches by 5  inches approximately (the complete folder).   The card does have some edge and corner wear, and some spots of discoloration.  It is free from major creases (other than the factory fold over)    Most importantly it is un cut. With the card still attached.  I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself.   These cards are scarce, as I believe they were a small print regional issue only.  Especially finding them un-cut.  Most kids would have cut them up to collect them   Don’t  miss out on this one

I  will be trying to list several  EARLY TRADE & TYPE CARDS over the next few days (spread across different categories), including one or two that are unrecorded in any guide, that were put given away with Tobacco, Cigarettes , Caramel, Candy, Gum, Chocolate, Bread Coffee Tea Cereal and other products, covering such diverse subjects as Native American Indians , Baseball , Football, Boy Scouts, Ice Hockey, Golf, Presidents of the United States, NCAA and IVY League Colleges and Universities, Dog Breeds,  Circus themes and many more.  To view the other cards I have up on ebay please click  on the “View Sellers other Items” Icon located on this page.
