This listing is for early copper with brass trim item.     We were told this is it looks like an ash holder that would sit by a fireplace and they would shovel in the ashes and then take them out when they have cooled down.   COAL WOOD ASH SCUTTLE BOX for FIREPLACE   Presumed handmade and personalized with hammered brass initials, brass trim.  

Measures approx 9.25" then extra for the lid.  4.5" base.




CONDITION:  See listing description and photos. Some scuffs and dings, dink in lid near knob. The lid is detached but the sires and metal can likely be rebent/reshaped to reattached the lid. Will leave that for you.
