Katzen Choral Gesang.
Steel engraving on laid paper. In cream mount. Size of engraving - 26.4cm x 22.2cm. Size of mount - 40cm x 36cm. Trimmed to just within the plate mark. Faint uniform age-toning to paper. A few minor handling marks to mount. Undated but probably a later re-strike, circa mid to late 19th century from the original plate.
A scarce example of this charming and humurous engraving by Kleinschmidt.
Provenance: this engraving came from the collection of Marianne C. Gourary - Bloomsbury Auctions, October 29, 2015, lot 177, with 1 other engraving, estimate £300-500.
