The maker (well-known lingerie manufacturer, Triumph) calls it a skirt (the 'Delicate Essence' skirt, to be exact). 

Other sites call it a shaping half-slip, a shaping half petticoat, others a girdle.

Some images do show it worn high on the waist like a girdle, others lower, like a skirt....

What we can all agree on - whatever we call it - is that it's utterly gorgeous!

So...

This 'Delicate Essence' shaping skirt/girdle/half-slip/half-petticoat by Triumph is a vintage-style garment fashioned from black lace over a sheer, semi-transparent nude base layer in tulle.

The lace is in a beautiful antique floral style, with sensational s-t-r-e-t-c-h. The nude base layer also has inbuilt stretch and is super-soft to the touch. All seams are ultra-flat for comfort.

A virtually invisible 4-inch zip with delicate black slider makes the skirt so easy to slip in and out of: there is a thoughtful hook-and-eye fastener at the top for extra security.

The bottom has a pretty scalloped edge, with four suspenders attached - these carry antique gold metal adjusters and stocking clips. The suspenders are removable, if desired. All clips and fastenings are nickel-free.

The whole ensemble is super-lightweight and comfortable - no boning or heavy materials here. It offers light shaping to the waist, hips, buttocks and tummy - perfect for when a sculpted silhouette is required.

Size 16. The item is brand new, never worn; just without card tags. Inner tags are complete.
