This antique cowbell is 7" tall including the grip handle.  As found in rural New Hampshire w/ the original patina. I believe it is hand forged of iron or steel; and it is riveted, so most likely made by a blacksmith.  Perfect for a primitive or farm life decor  -or-  hang it on the cow:)  Very old, and the wear is commiserate with the age and use.  There is a dent on the lower edge where it could have met up with a fence.  The bell is quite heavy, it weighs 1 lb. 7 ounces before boxing.  Although the clapper is a 'make do', this is a beautiful piece of Primitive Americana that will add character and charm to any space. Strong and durable construction, it is sure to last for many years to come. The bell is a great way to showcase your love for vintage and antique items and is a conversation starter for sure.  VERY LOUD!
