This large bone china breakfast cup and saucer was made by New Hall circa 1815-25 , it is from the Pat Preller collection and bears her label on the base .
It has a moulded basket weave body and is decorated with hand painted flowers within blue bands and enriched with gilding . This is pattern 1944 .
The cup stands at 2 5/8" high and the saucer measures 6 5/8" in diameter .
The handle has been broken off and repaired , this included a piece of the top edge of the cup , which has a chip , there are some cracks on the base of the cup , which show on both sides , the saucer has a fine crack on the edge of about 3/4" in length this shows on both sides , and there is a fine glaze line on the back edge of the saucer of about 5/8" in length , this does not go through to the inside . There are some speckles of kiln dust from when it was made , there is no glaze crazing , the gilding is good with just slight wear .
I will be listing lots more New Hall from the Pat Preller collection over the next few months , due to Pat thinning out her large collection .
