Rare prototype and only 2 or 3 examples known. I believe that the central vignette design of the jugate bust of Gore and Lieberman was an intended design for a potential 2001 inauguration medal for the two. The inscriptions were changed to reflect that they won the popular vote creating this prototype medal which was never struck in large numbers. 4.25 Troy ounces of .999 fine silver and stamped on the edge.

This silver medal commemorates the 2000 US presidential election in which Al Gore and Joe Lieberman ran as running mates. The medal celebrates the popular vote portion of the election and features the names of the candidates. It would make a great addition to any collection of political memorabilia, especially for collectors interested in the 2000 election or the Democratic candidates. The medal is in good condition and comes with a protective case.
