i-D Magazine No.3 January 1981. Vivien Westwood/Jordan. Flexi Disc Present.

A magazine from my personal collection - I bought this mag back in 1981 when I was managing a clothes shop on Kings Road - our clothes would feature in some early issues of i-D though not this particular one, and so I have a run of the mags which I am now parting with.
This issue had a flexi disc, it is present, I have it!, this mag is hard to find and I have never seen anyone offer it with the flexi disc give away included - I've never played it.
The magazine is in good to very good condition for age - staples have rust but are sound and haven't bled into surrounding paper. The mag has margins of darker ink at edges of the front cover, the lighter colour to most of front cover is NOT fading through being exposed to sun, it has always been like that and my No.4 has the same issue, I seem to remember them as always being like that but I have seen other examples with uniform inking.
Please have a look at the mix of scans and photos I have taken and decide for yourslf if it meets your collecting standards. I've shown just a few pages at random to give you an idea of content, though I'd expect viewers of my listing to know what to expect from this iconic title.

Features:
- "Vibes" (featuring Judith, Richard, Michael, Ethnic, Andy, Julian, and loads more. Includes small interview with Fad Gadget and Michael Furbank).
- "Do What" The Great Wall - of London W1.
- "Straight Up" (10 pages photos street fashion).
- "Out Of Order" - Tomorrow Revisited (short story by Grace Fairley).

i-D is (was ? - publication was suspended Feb.2024) a British bimonthly magazine dedicated to fashion, music, art and youth culture. The magazine features people in fashion, music, art, clubs, film, and every other creative field. i-D was founded by designer and former Vogue art director Terry Jones in 1980. The first issue was published in the form of a hand-stapled fanzine with text produced on a typewriter. Over time the magazine evolved into a mature glossy publication but it has kept street style and youth culture central.
