THE ITEM DESCRIPTION: The Donald Duck celluloid nodder is 6” tall. The pose of this nodder is different. Donald's head & exceptionally long beak are almost always facing forward & the nodder pendulum is in the back. This example has Donald's head turned to the side with the pendulum on the side that he is facing toward. It is in excellent original condition. Paper sticker on back says DONALD DUCK copyright Walt Disney. It also has the Import/Export stamp on back indicating its origin made in Japan. A replacement rubber band now connects the top of the mechanism to the base where it is held in place by a wire. Turn the wire a few times to wind up & then release. The head will nod in time to the pendulum in back. Very simple mechanism but at the same time ingenious. Note that my last photo pictures the nodder side by side with the well known large Donald Duck bisque. The pose is nearly identical & emphasizes the extraordinary size of the long bill.
