This collection of manuscript material relating to religious figues in 19th century Britian includes:

[1] John Watson [English presbyterian divine, 1850-1907], divine and author, short 1-page hand-written letter, signed. Dated 1899. Addressed to Lady Bennett. Black ink on cream writing paper (watermarked wove). Verso blank. Thin mounting strip to rear. Central fold.

[2] Benjamin Jowett [English Anglican cleric and reformer, 1817-1893], short 1-page hand-written letter, signed. No year, but circa 1869. Addressed to 'Dear Sir'. Black ink on cream writing paper (watermarked laid). Verso blank. Thin mounting strip to rear. Central fold, light creasing.

[3] Charles Stanford [English Baptist minister, 1823-1886], hand-written letter, signed, across two leaves plus part of a third, with integral blank backed to thin album card. No year, but circa 1870s. Addressed to 'Dear Sir'. Black ink on cream writing paper (watermarked laid). Folds for mailing, light creasing.

[4] Edward Bickersteth [Bishop of Exeter in the Church of England, 1825-1906], hand-written letter, signed, across two sides of cream coloured writing paper (laid), black ink. Dated 1885. Addressed to 'Dear Sir Risdon Bennett'. Folds for mailing, light creasing.

[5] Hugh Reginald Haweis [English cleric, 1838-1901], hand-written letter, signed, on one side of off-white writing paper (laid), with verso backed to thin album card. No year, but circa 1880s-90s. Addressed to 'My dear Miss Self'. Folds for mailing, light overall creasing, some age-toning to paper, and a few spots of foxing. A few short closed tears to left side.

[6] John Henry Jowett [British Protestant preacher, 1863-1923], signature in purple ink, clipped from the foot of a letter. Minor creasing.

[7] Henry Latham [Cambridge priest, 1821-1902], signature and a couple of lines of MS in black ink, clipped from the foot of a letter. Minor age-toning and creasing. Back on a piece of thin album card.

[8] Samuel John Stone [English poet, hymnodist and priest, 1839-1900], signature and a few of lines of MS in black ink, clipped from the foot of a letter.
