This is a 60cm Basso Ascot from approximately 1990. It's a super interesting frame built from Columbus MS tubing. Each tube is specially shaped. The downtube is teardrop, the top tube is oval, and one chainstay is triangular. The frame is in good to fair condition considering its age. It's certainly safe to ride but the fluorescent paint has faded a little and there are quite a few chips in the paint.
The drivetrain is Dura-Ace 8 Speed including the first generation STI shift/brake levers. It still shifts beautifully, however the levers are not as attractive as they once were. The brakes are slightly newer Dura-Ace dual-pivot calipers. The pedals are Dura-Ace SPD 2-bolt.
The bike comes with two wheelsets. There is a clincher set with Dura-Ace hubs laced to Mavic Open S.U.P. CD rims built by "Uncle Al" at Cyclecraft. The rear wheel spokes are tied and soldered. The tubular wheels are Dura-Ace laced to Mavic GL-330 rims.
The bike has Mavic headset and bottom bracket. Also comes with an extra 12-23 cassette in addition to the 12-21 and 12-25 cassetts on the wheels. Also comes with a 42t chainring to go with 39/53 rings on the cranks.

I would prefer a local SF Bay Area sale. If the buyer would like this shipped we will make arrangements through a Palo Alto-area bike shop affiliated with BikeFlights. Buyer will pay to have the bike packed and shipped.

Happy to answer any questions.
