Is this the most power/car you can buy for the money?

3 friends and I sought to buy the fastest and most luxurious car that money (sub £10k) could buy, for a trip with a wider group of fellow petrolheads to Retromobile in Paris. The idea being that we could experience a luxobarge/supersaloon, where we couldn't justify to own individually.

Once reliability and the concern that most very heavily depreciated, complicated barges bought on a whim might not get us there. We ruled out the S8/S500/760li's in favor of a Jaguar. Assessing everything from an XJR6 to a Daimler Super v8 when this XFR caught our eye, for sale by an engineer colleague at JLR.

It didn't take much more than a print out of the dyno sheet for us to wire the funds and it turned out to be the perfect car for the trip. Faster than anything our friends could bring, can hang on the bumper of an M4 in the twisties but with incredible comfort and an amazing 11 speaker stereo.

About the car:

• 2009 Jaguar XFR
• 5.0 Supercharged AJ133 with a modified upper pulley and Veizu tune (530 whp dyno sheet)
• 580hp, 700nm+, 0-60 in 4.4s and 200mph+ top speed
• Indigo Blue over Ivory seats and Dark Oak wood with optional Jet Jaguar suedecloth headlining
• Options: Adaptive Cruise Control, Heated and Cooled Memory Seats, Electric Rear Blind, Digital TV Tuner and JaguarVoice
• Currently fitted with XFR-S rear diffuser
• It doesn’t have the original Service booklet, however does have a folder of paper work with many thousands having been spent on this car and a recent gearbox
• Recently serviced with new front brakes, pads and brake fluid, oil and all filters
• Cosmetically needs some love, few dents and scratches, cracked front bumper and light rust and faded lacquer on the passenger side wing, previously had an XFR-S rear wing with mounting holes patrially visible under the OEM XFR boot lip
• Mechanically, it has a slight weep from the rocker cover. Potentially worth doing in the future should you wish to change the bottom pulley and charge cooler to unleash 650hp+ (all gaskets, spark plugs and an upgrader supercharger coupler are included but not fitted)
• It does have an intermittent tyre pressure monitoring and reversing camera fault (sensors front and rear still all work), suspected TPMS sensor and boot wiring loom
• Jaguar Pace eau de toilette is included with the car

Now fitted with the chrome/chrome grille depicted.
